These Job Shops Built Their Own Apps
The Apps Nobody at Fulcrum Built
Hundreds of apps are running inside Fulcrum shops right now that our team never touched. Their teams piloted Builder and built them by describing exactly what they needed. Today, Builder is available to every Fulcrum shop.
A welding shop in Alberta needed a CUSMA Certificate of Origin on every cross-border shipment. A fab shop in Minnesota wanted an andon board on the floor. A 15-person machine shop in Washington kept its setup knowledge in binders buried in toolboxes and wanted it next to the job instead.
None of those is a feature. Each is one shop's way of running work, and no software company was ever going to build any of them. Every spreadsheet in a shop is proof of the same thing: the software didn't fit, so the shop bent, or paid a consultant.
The math has changed, though. The cost of building software has collapsed, and the narrow things that make your shop yours can be built now, by you.
Why would a software company tell you this? We laid it out openly at Connect 2026, our annual user conference, when Fulcrum Founder & CEO Sunny Han declared to a room full of customers that Fulcrum, as we knew it at the time, was legacy software.
Our operating philosophy at Fulcrum has always been that it is our job to evolve, and evolve fast, to give shops running complex, high-mix work the tech they actually need in a rapidly changing industry and world. That's why we update constantly.
We know you need real-time visibility. We know you need to manage frequent schedule changes. We set out to be the software that moves as fast as you do.
Builder is how we keep delivering, and we want your shop to put it to work starting today.
Describe It. Builder Makes It.
Using Builder is simple. We built it so every job shop can pick it up immediately once live on Fulcrum.
Type what you want: "Show me every job behind schedule, grouped by department, with the operation it's sitting on." Builder finds the jobs, operations, and dates in your Fulcrum, and a few minutes later the app is on your screen with your data in it.
Then ask for the part that makes it a tool instead of a report: "Add a button on each row to move the job to the next operation and set a new due date." Now someone can work the whole list from one screen, and the changes are real Fulcrum changes, recorded in the history.
Publish it, pick who sees it, and it shows up in your Fulcrum menu next to everything else.
Why This Works in Fulcrum
Builder already knows your Fulcrum: the schema, the data, and how records get written safely. It has been taught how manufacturing works and what a good screen looks like. There's no integration to build, no export to keep current, and no second login. Apps run with each person's permissions, so nobody can do anything through an app they couldn't already do in Fulcrum.
Fulcrum hosts it, including for ITAR shops. There's nothing to deploy and no infrastructure to run. Apps sit in your navigation alongside everything else, and everything you build is secure.
