Updates to Purchasing Planning

We’ve made some tweaks to Purchasing Planning to make it easier to understand:

  • The “End Date” filter is now called “Order by Date.” This filter shows the items that need to be ordered by that day so can be received in time for the job. This accounts for vendor lead time.
  • The On Hand Supply graph will now chart the decrements based off the scheduled start time instead of the “order by date”. The receiving changes will stay based on the PO expected receive date.
  • We've added tooltips to explain how order dates are calculated and what the Expected On Hand Supply graph is based on.

New Job Tracking Dashboard ✨

Introducing the new Job Tracking dashboard, redesigned to increase clarity and ease of use. The priority order of operations is still powered by Fulcrum's Autoschedule, but the operation cards have been streamlined to bring focus directly to what’s most important on the top of the queue.

New information to the operation card includes the ability to start/stop timers for jobs, the previous operation and its status, and an 'Open NCR' tag.

This update also features a new navigation tab bar for clear separation of operations by status, and a feature where recently viewed operations and searches appear when you click on the search bar. The enhanced OmniSearch now filters operations by department, operation, and equipment and stays with the user until they reset it. Users can set a default department, streamlining the process for operators who typically don't switch departments during their day.

New chat functionality will be included in this release as well, so operators can see notes for all jobs rather than just the ones they had previously worked on. This feature is responsive to all screen sizes, including mobile. These improvements are designed to make Job Tracking more intuitive and efficient for everyone.

Job Tracker interface redesign

New year new look! ✨ We understand the need for machinists and operators to always know which job to work on, which is why we have updated the Job Tracker dashboard. The operation priority order in Job Tracker is still fed by Fulcrum's Scheduler, but we have made it easier to hone in on the biggest priority and get to work faster. Coming January 16th.

First & Last Name Columns on Time Management Grid Report

Now there are separate columns for First and Last Names, alongside the existing Full Name column. Since this report is most frequently used for payroll, these additional columns add flexibility as you sort and filter the report in the way that is most consistent with how you submit payroll.

Allowing Operation Completion with Required In Process Tracking

When tracking quality, you want a record of which parts in the run are within and out of tolerance. Previously, Job Tracking limited users from marking an operation “complete” until they fixed any parts marked “out of tolerance.” While this makes sense for some use cases, some operations may need to be completed regardless of whether they reworked the part. We’ve added a new field to In Process Tracking called “Allow out of tolerance completion” that allows for operation completion even when a part is marked “out of tolerance.” This is set on an operation-to-operation basis in the BOM and routing editor and appears when an In-Process Field is marked “Required.”

Further connecting Job Tracking to the Autoschedule

The Autoschedule is now connected to progress data from Job Tracking, making the schedule more accurate.

Here's what changed:

  • Operations scheduled in the past will be rescheduled to the present.
  • Running and paused operations will be given priority on the equipment.
  • If an operation scheduled for tomorrow is started today, the scheduler will move it up to the top.
  • Since the Scheduler dictates the order of operations in Job Tracking, these changes will also apply to Job Tracking.

This functionally is not available when drag-and-drop is being used because drag-and-drop locks operations in to start on a specific date.

New Job Tracking Dashboard

Introducing the new Job Tracking dashboard, redesigned to increase clarity and ease of use. This update features a new navigation tab bar for clear separation of operations by status, and a feature where recently viewed operations and searches appear when you click on the search bar. The enhanced omnisearch now filters operations by department, operation, and equipment.

The new operation card includes the ability to start/stop timers for jobs, removes the progress bar in favor of a total operation time timer, adds information about the previous operation and its status, and includes an 'Open NCR' tag. Users can set a default department, streamlining the process for operators who typically don't switch departments during their day. On mobile, a profile view has been added for functions like pausing timers, editing, viewing in-progress operations, department selection, and logout.

We've simplified the interface by removing filters and preset filters, reducing clutter and confusion from the previous implementation. The operation card has also been streamlined to add focus to what’s important. These improvements are designed to make Job Tracking more intuitive and efficient for everyone.

Picking Materials in Job Tracking

We have made improvements to our pick screen to simplify the picking process for operators. Notable changes include displaying suggested picks with detailed lot and location information by default, introducing a 'Select Lots' button for selecting multiple lots, and adding a 'Missing Materials' button for unavailable picks. The inventory is now prioritized based on job requirement, age, and quantity. To enhance clarity and efficiency, we have removed the 'items to make' input, reducing confusion and clutter for operators.

Split Operations When Creating Work Orders

Now you can split operations from the work order creation page allowing for better clarity when using nesting software! When you split an operation, it allows you to divide the work into multiple parts — taking one operation and turning it into as many as you need to get that job done.  Simply tell the work order page how much you want to include and the work order will do the split for you. The part you want to nest is added to the work order and the remaining is still available to be worked as a standard operation or added to its own work order operation.

Here are the step to take advantage of this feature enhancement:

  1. Make sure your operation is set to “can be split”.
  2. Assign material to the operation you’d like to split.
  3. When the sales order has been entered, move it to “In Progress”, and jobs created.  Head to Production - Work Orders and create a new Work Order.
  4. Identify the operations you would like to group per your nest.
  5. Select the operations to add them to the work order, than adjust the quantity from each job you would like to split from that original job onto the work order. Name the work order and select “Create Work Order.”
  6. You can now select the same operations for the remainder of the original job quantity to group on a separate work order for a different nest. From this point you will notice a few things. The operations at the job level will be split out based on how it was separated during the work order creation workflow.
  7. The quantity per operation should also correspond to the number added to each work order.
  8. As the work orders are completed, that split operation will be shown as complete at the job level and can be moved on through the remainder of the process.
