As we previewed in an earlier post, we’re working on a new BOM & Routing editor that will be faster to use and give you more information up front. The new editor now supports In-Process Tracking. Like elsewhere in the BOM & Routing editor, the new In-Process Tracking interface is cleaner and will require fewer clicks.
The new BOM & Routing editor is in beta testing.
We’ve expanded the import and export functionality from the Data Imports page to include Users and In-Process Tracking. This will make it much easier for you to make bulk changes to these data sets.
We’ve updated the BOM & Routing editor to make it as quick and painless as possible so you can focus on more important things. With the new editor, we've optimized for maximum visibility while editing, incorporated more drag-and-drop features for easier re-ordering, and introduced right-click shortcuts to items and operations for access to more functionality at the top level view.
Adding items and operations, importing from other items, vendor details, and details / settings for operation and full routings now exist in a panel alongside the main editor. We're working to eliminate any remaining pop-up windows and you only need the save button on the item page as all edits are live.
Every part of the UI is interactive:
• ‘Make’ Items: Add subcomponents or operations to routings.
• ‘Buy’ Items: Access vendor settings.
• Operations: Add notes, edit times/settings, and manage attachments.
• Routing Rows: Reorder operations and view total operation times.
• Right-Click Actions: Remove items or operations with ease.
The new BOM & Routing editor is in beta testing and will be released in phases to users in the coming weeks.
Completing a job from the Jobs page can be a hassle if you use lot tracking — lots of clicks and searching to find where you need to add the missing lot data. We’ve made this easier by taking advantage of the default lot names that are already used in Job Tracking. Now when you complete a job from the Jobs page, the system will automatically prefill any missing lots based on that template. You can of course still change those as needed.
Our current setup for tracking labor costs doesn’t offer much flexibility for capturing when those costs need to change such as to capture overtime. In a step toward that flexibility, we’ve added the ability to override the hourly labor rate for labor and setup timers. This can be done in Time Management when either creating new timers or editing existing ones.
Only users with the Override Hourly Rates permission will be able to see and edit hourly rates in Time Management.
We already had separate permissions for editing & converting quotes, however previously anyone with the Edit Quotes permission was automatically granted the Convert Quotes permission. Based on feedback we’ve gotten from you, we have untied these permissions so that they are independent from each other.
To give you more options for configuring labels, we’ve added the ability to include custom field data on Job Labels. These can be configured by going the Label settings in Business Setup.
The custom fields need to be first defined in the Custom Field setup and must be listed under the Job module. The list of the available fields also appears in the label setup. When used in Job Tracking, fields from the Job Operation module can also be used.
In response to feedback about the new Job Tracking interface, we’ve made two changes to reduce friction when completing operations:
Editing the Quantity Completed is now more straightforward — when you tap on that quantity you’ll now be able to simply update the total directly.
We’ve also made it easier to add to inventory. Before, you could only inventory up to the quantity that was marked complete. Now, if a user adds more to inventory than they previously marked complete, we’ll simply update the completed quantity to match.
To make it easier to manage your data, Fulcrum offers data downloads in Business Setup > Data Import > (new Import) > Data Downloads. These downloads include your existing data in a format that can be edited and reimported to make bulk updates. In this release, a tab for Vendor Item Details has been added to the Items download. This enables quick, bulk updates to your vendor item details such as the vendor item name, lead time, and more.
Expanding the versatility of Fulcrum’s public API, this release includes some updates for managing and retrieving your item data. Specifically,

The Solidworks/CSV/Excel BOM importer has been updated to have a revision column. This can be used to upload items at a specific revision, or match items at a specific revision already in your system. The Revision column can be named any of: "REVISION", "Revision", "REV", "Rev", "REV.", or "Rev."
We’ve added a new tab to the Shipping Backlog and Historical Shipment reports. This new tab gives a summary of your monthly shipments for each of your customers.
We’ve made several other improvements to our reporting and grid download tools:
We added an extra click in a few places to alert users the action is not reversible before they proceed.
For example, when deleting a Sales Order, you’ll need to confirm that this was your intent by clicking an additional button.
This will help prevent misclicks from accidentally deleting or updating data.
The equipment editor has a new look and feel and will require fewer clicks to make changes.
